Good Free Camps
The aim of this page is to record free camps that we may like to use in the future and wish other travellers to know about.
Hay (NSW)
On the north side of the Murrumbidgee (town side), and beside the highway (i.e. main street) there is a place called Sandy Point. It is a great place for a free camp, and it has toilets.
Bourke (1)
On the west side of the highway about 50 km south of Bourke, behind a highway stop area. Move 50 to 100 metres behind the official car park.

Quilpie
On the west bank of Lake Houdraman. Sort of part of a formal caravan park. $5 per person. Great location. Turnoff approx 2 km east of town.
Windorah
On the banks of Coppers Creek, about 12 km SE of town. Toilets on the south side. Great spot.
Winton (1)
Long Waterhole, about 1.5 km on the Jundah Rd, turn east and about 1km of good dirt road. Private spot.
Winton (2)
Craiggs Family Bridge, about 3 km on the Jundah Rd, on LHS of road. Close to road. Less dirt road.
